Hi
I'm planning on building my first rig and I'm contemplating about getting either an FX-8320E or an FX-6350.Both are at about the same price form where I will buy them.I can't get an 8320 because its out of my budget.I can, however, still get an FX-8300 but I'm not sure which one is the best paired up with an MSI R9 380.I do plan on overclocking but only when I need to.And I need my build to be a bit future proofed for about 3 years.I'll be playing GTA V,COD:AW,CS:GO, The Witcher 3 etc. and need them to be atleast 40+ fps.I can still deal with 30+ fps but after this build gets really old(3+ years) but i still need everything to be at 1080p.I will most likely OC with a CM 212 EVO as I want to stay away from water cooling. Here are the specs:
CPU: FX 6350 or FX-8320E or FX-8300(please recommend)
GPU: MSI R9 380 4GB DDR5
RAM:8 GB KINGSTON SAVAGE 1866 MHz
PSU:XFX TS550W
HDD: WD CAVIAR BLUE 1TB
OPTICAL DRIVE: Asus DRW-24F1ST DVD/CD Writer
Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming
Case:Xigmatek MACH II

Is my build good or should I just buy a PS4 or XBOX ONE for half the price since I'm basically paying about 800$ ordering locally :)

Admirable

You will do much better with a i5 4460, however if you really want an ancient architecture FX CPU stick with the FX 8350 or FX 8320. FX already has poor gaming no need to get the E version and make it worse.

OP cant afford either of those, they say.

AMD is way more affordable than intel. Now,I clearly stated that this was a budget build so I can't exactly opt for intl.Use an i3 with hyperthreading?I'd rather stick with AMD since most games don't really favor hyperthreading. As far as performance goes, sure Intel has better performance but that doesn't mean AMD has none or poor.Pair an i5 and an FX with the same GPU and see the difference for yourself. It will mostly be only 5-10 fps in most AAA titles though in games that are poorly optimised like ARMA III or DayZ,The i5 flies ahead but for me,I'll most likely play AAA games or games that are atleast optimised. So the point is that intel has better performance but it is kind of negligible in most games if you have a good enough GPU and I'm pretty sure an R9 380 isn't a low end card.

Yes, I know, that's why I asked. It helps me think of outside the box solutions.

Are you planning to do anything other than Gaming with this system (especially editing and rendering)?

For gaming, the FX 6350 will perform very much the same as an FX 8320. The extra module in the FX 8 is of very limited value in gaming, so the higher clock-speed of the FX 6350 matters.

Here's some benchmark and comparison information.

For the most part,It'll be used for gaming but I might also use it for video editing and maybe Photoshop.Right now, some games allow to utilize the 6 core the 6350 offers but the 8320 will still have to wait until we can utilize the 8 cores it has :) But the main reason I'm building my own rig in the first place is so that I can also use it for school and stuff like web browsing,Programs like Office and some coding too.I'll make the choice tomorrow and I'll post it here.
