System Specs:
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 660
MB: MSi z97a Gaming 7
PSU: EVGA 850w Bronze
CPU: i7 4790k
RAM: G.Skill 16GB (8x2) 1866
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium running on a 250 GB SSD
About a week ago, a lightning strike hit a pole near my house and ended up damaging my motherboard so I decided to upgrade everything on my rig except my GPU and disk drives. All my games were running smoothly until I started using my new rig. For about 10-15 minutes after startup and while playing a game, everything is fine. My GPU will randomly spike to 100% usage from 60%-70% while my CPU stays at around 15%-20% usage. Everything looks fine except for the GPU spiking.
I previously believed my PSU was the cause so I just installed the PSU listed last night. Unfortunately, it didn't solve my problem.
I'm rather worried because there are so many variables to test for. I have no idea if it's bad RAM, bad motherboard or windows running a process that's causing this.
Edit: Here's Afterburner screenshots after 15 minutes of playing a game. (Note that this happens for all games)
