Think of it this way, the fastest AMD gets stomped by the SLOWEST I5 cpu. AMD is far too many generations behind. There is no contest.

The OC'd 8350 (at like 4.4-4.6Ghz) will most likely beat the I7 at stock in most categories except single core performance which matters less and less. I get a passmark CPU bench of over 10,000 on my 8350 at 4.4Ghz, which is higher than the vast majority of I7's in OVERALL performance. Games will probably still be 3-5% higher FPS on the I7's though, depending on the GPU of course.
