Hello, hopefully someone has some insight on how to fix this. Every minute or two my laptop will suddenly drop all packets for 2-5 seconds for seemingly no reason.
Troubleshooting:
Confirmed it's unique to just this machine, other computers have no packet loss going to the router/modem.
Tried on both wired and wireless connection, same results on both.
Ensured drivers were up to date on Motherboard, physical NIC and wireless NIC (and theoretically anything else using the driver download tool, but only verified those vs the manufacturer website).
Uninstalled device in Device Manager, restarted.
Disabled Windows Defender and Windows Firewall
Turned off IPv6 on network adapter
Ensured all Windows Updates were installed
Reset router
Current Specs:
ASUS G551JM laptop running Windows 10 Home x64
Router/Modem is Cisco DPC3825 DOCSIS 3.0 Gateway, but other computers can connect with no issue wifi or wired.
A running ping to my router gives the following:
Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64
Request timed out.
General failure.
General failure.
Request timed out.
Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time=8ms TTL=64
Note: That's just a small pull from when it drops the packets, having run a -t ping for about an hour it's only about 2% packet loss. Occasionally it will do just two "Request timed out" (without the General failure) before coming back up.
Anyone have any ideas that I haven't already tried? It's a major pain in the butt, because I can't play any online games for more than 2-3 minutes without getting dropped by the server.
