Simple question about phenom processor

I have a very simple question. Does the phenom ii processor have same transistors?. Are they only differed by the clock speed ? If the phenom ii 955 is overclocked to 3.7ghz does it becomes equal to phenom ii 980 which is running @ stock i.e 3.7ghz?

Yes. There is no guarantee that any specific unit will overclock to that level. If it had passed testing at the factory it would have been marked at a higher clock speed and sold as such.

Of course. The 980BE is just a slightly speed bumped 965BE which was a speed bumped 955. My C3 stepping 965BE did 4.2 GHz very easily Prime95 stable.
