I have an arris wireless modem that has ethernet ports in the back, i plug my ethernet cable into it, then into my comptuter and i got wired, but then i turned my computer on today and its wireless again...

also there was a thunderstorm that knocked out my power. and I try to connect to 5g and nothing is there, and the other day it showed 5g... when I look for avaiable networks 5g completely disapeared... even though it was there the other day. I'm suppose to be getting 55 download. im getting 5 its terrible, can someone help me connect to 5g, and fix wired problem?

I have the enthernet cable connected right now but no wired. just shitty wireless ;(

open "network and sharing settings" and then "change adapter settings" and right click "Ethernet" and enable if not done so and then right click "wireless" and click disable. Now on your pc you will only have an Ethernet connection and won't default to wireless to connect. In the future you can enable wireless again if you want.

and your 5G you tried to connect to when your homes internet was knocked out from the lightning storm. I'm assuming your 5G network is on your mobile device so in settings your going to want to enable data and a WiFi hotspot and set a hotspot password. If hotspot isn't enabled it won't broadcast its phones network to nearby devices. Once done you should be able to to see the 5G WiFi from your pc if wireless is enabled or you can connect it to your computer with a usb cable to your mobile device and it connects through an Ethernet like setup with no need to go through WiFi.
