*Motherboard: MOTHER ASUS M5A99 FX PRO R2.0 AM3+
*Graphic Card; R9 270x 2gb ddr5
*Storage: SATA III 2tb WD RED
*RAM: 2x4gb ddr3 Kingston 1600Mhz

Yes your friend is being ridiculous. 550w is MORE than enough for your setup.

Your WD Red hard drive may have not been the best choice, but it WILL work just fine as the main drive. I do recommend adding a ssd though if you can afford it.

It is important to get a high quality psu because it is the most important part of every build. I recommend anything from Seasonic, XFX, Antec, Super Flower, Rosewill Capstone, or EVGA's GS, B2, G2 series. All you really need is 520-550w.

The case is a personal choice. Find one you like that will physically hold your parts. partpicker.com is a great way to test compatibility (and find sales)

Are you sure all I need is just 550w? Don't take it as an insult it's just that a friend of mine told me that this, need, at least 800w, is that correct or he was just being absurd?
