Supermicro X10SRH-CLN4F no VGA Output - (already tried steps in perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems)

Hello Experts,

I just purchased a brand new PC and attempted to assemble it, all attempts to get it up an running so far have failed (on VGA output - and yes, I have followed the steps in the read this first guide), could really do with some advice here.

I am using the following kit:

CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2630V3
Motherboard: SUPERMICRO X10SRH-CLN4F
Heatsinc: Noctua NH-U12DX i4
RAM: Samsung DDR4-2133 CL15 (DDP2Gx4) LRDIMM QR
(M386A4G40DM0-CPB)
Power: FSP AURUM CM SERIES 550

When the system boots there is no VGA output at all, after 20 seconds there are two short bios beeps followed by one more even shorter one. I checked the AMI bios beep guide and couldn't find any matching beep codes.

So far I have followed the steps provided here ( http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems ), unfortunately to no avail. I also replaced the memory, after replacing it I did get VGA output for about 15 minutes, then the system went back to its aforementioned state.

My gut feeling is that it could be the motherboard or possibly an incompatibility with the CPU (http://ark.intel.com/De/products/83356/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-2630-v3-20M-Cache-2_40-GHz) and the memory. Intel indicates that DDR4 1600/1866 memory should be used (I can't find anywhere to buy this, only 2133's).

Any feedback or ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response Calvin, this is good to know.

I just spoke to Intel concerning the Xeon E5-2630V3, they stated the following:

"If the board supports DDR4 2133 it would work, but the processor would degrade the speed to the maximum limit of 1866"

Given this response, I am thinking that the motherboard may be the culprit here...

Hi All,

just posting the solution here to close of this thread.

So after some further troubleshooting and investigations it was identified that the VGA port was defective.

This was confirmed through the use of the IPMI port, the system could boot, recognise its memory and CPU.

According to the vendor, the earlier described beeps are normal and related to a successful system post check.
