i recently purchased a seagate barracuda es 500 gb hdd from web dot com here in central kolkata but to my surprise i found the hdd when run for an hour experienced very hot for test purpose if you keep your palm over it maybe some frickle may appear.i found more information at ebay that it is sata1 hdd but i am using it in sata 2 without knowing it could any one tell me what is the optimal temperature of this hdd,if i use it will it destroy the hdd
