RAM keeps increasing rapidly

I was using Cyberlink PowerDirector 13 when it keeps crashing just after 5 minutes of use. I restarted the app with task manager open and i noticed that the ram usage increased rapidly from 40% to 90% and the app crashed. Then it drops back to 40%. This is quite recent and hasnt happened before. I dont know what is causing this ram leak.

My computer specs:
Windows 10 Pro
Intel i5-4690K @ 4.3GHz
MSI Z97 Gaming 3
2x4GB HyperX Fury DDR3 1600MHz
ASUS R9 390 DCUII

Almost certainly not a hardware issue - this is software related. Check your version is up to date and ask Cyberlink support. (I don't even know if they have support, what I'm saying is we can't help as this is for hardware)

I forgot to mention that this also happened yesterday when i was watching a movie with VLC. First it was smooth then midway it stuttered due to ram insufficiency. hence i think something else is causing this problem rather than powerdirector itself

Okay well again, not hardware. RAM doesn't use itself up. You need to look in Task Manager to see which process is using lots of RAM when this happens.

i guessing that it is software issue as well, but i have been using the same app (same version) on my laptop and i never had such problem. task manager shows powerdirector is using the most but that's mainly due to the ram usage keeps increasing every time i do something like moving the timeline or adding videos. ram usage builds up for every action and stays at the same level even when i stop touching the computer. at startup PDR uses about 700MB, after a few clicks it rose to 3GB and crashes. This is so frustrating
