I have successfully DBAN'd my laptop and have a legit copy of windows 7 on my usb with the 25 digit key. but when i boot from usb and run the windows installation,i accept the terms and choose language ... then i have to choose a partition, obviously i have DBAN'd so there only " Disk 0 unallocated space 149 GB " i can make partitions by clicking new and format them, although you cant see the format or choose the type of format, but no matter what I do when i click next to proceed to install i get this. " Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. see the setup log files for more information." i dont even know how to see the log files... please someone who has installed OS after DBAN help. Thanks Will :)

I suspect that you are going to need a boot manager. My best guess is that Windows can't integrate itself with the boot sector that DBAN installed.

I'm likely wrong; Windows has the nasty habit of writing over existing boot sectors instead.

It took me a while and a few days to find the free time but weather or not your theory was right i cannot say, but using a boot manager did indeed help. I honestly cannot say why, but it did. Thank you, you are a life saver.
