Hi,

I just built a computer a couple months ago w G3258 cpu/MSI z97 mobo. It was from one of those newegg deals for 90 bucks.
Well, today I was watching youtube videos and the screen went all crazy and made some funny sounds and just turned off. When I turn it back on nothing comes on screen but everything seems to be powered on (well at least the fans). I've had a PSU blow out before and nothing worked at all when I tried to boot so this is a little different.
I have a 7970 video card so I tried plugging into the on board video and still nothing on screen. I am not sure what else to test or how to test the components to see what's wrong. I haven't had any issues up until this point. Any help would be appreciated!

Pentium G3258
MSI Z97 PC Mate LGA 1150
G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
Seagate Barracuda 1TB SATAIII
Samsung EVO 850 256 GB SSD
Rosewill Glacier-600M, Glacier Series 600W Modular Power Supply
Diamond 7970 GPU
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler
NZXT Technologies SOURCE 220 CA-SO220-01 Mid Tower Case

I unplugged everything and I am going back and plugging everything back into the mobo. All the lights and stuff turn on when I would turn it on, the monitor wouldn't recognize that the computer is on though.

ok I may have figured it out. I had a an old video card and that seems to work. My 7970 seemed to have blown out. That is unfortunate. I am going to try the video card in the other PCI EXpress slot to see if it works there. For the time being I am using an old 7750 card I had in the closet. So far, it is working though. Well, I guess this gives me an excuse to upgrade the video card.
