Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I figured that NAS4Free is open source.

I recently decided to turn an old PC into a NAS using NAS4Free (As this thing only has 1GB RAM)
It has a 250GB WD blue and I threw in a 500GB samsung notebook drive.

I configured it using this tutorial:
http://lifehacker.com/5822590/turn-an-old-computer-into-a-networked-backup-streaming-or-torrenting-machine-with-freenas

Now, I can access the nas, but both drives are limited to 54MB of space. I tried searching the web but got no answers.

What is the issue and how do I solve it?

That's certainly unusual. NAS4Free should just work.

One thought that comes to mind - is it possible that your disks have a GPT partition table rather than an MBR one? In any case, I would make sure that all partitions are deleted on them before installation and that they have an MBR partition table.
