hey all I am looking for some new memory for my sabertooth 990fx board but I am terrible with compatibility just wondering what you guys would recommend 99% of usage is gaming...
Have been looking at Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD16GX3M2A1866C9 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3

TIA

Double check what capacity of memory the board can take.
But also the density of a single memory stick, the board will take in one of it`s slots.
Check to see what the maximum speed of memory the motherboard can take with it`s current bios revision number.
The memory you selected runs at 1866MHz C9 latency. and will have an xmp mode.

So you need to see if the memory controller of the motherboard will support that frequency of memory.
Otherwise it will be a waste if the board cannot support that speed of the memory kit.

As long as you do this and are not mixing any other ram sticks in the system with ones that are running at a different speed or timings, cas rating you should be fine.

4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
* Due to OS limitation, when installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Install a 64-bit Windows® OS when you want to install 4GB or more memory on the motherboard.
* Due to CPU spec., AMD 100 and 200 series CPUs support up to DDR3 1066MHz. With ASUS design, this motherboard can support up to DDR3 1333MHz.

my CPU is an 8350, so from this it looks like
Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD16GX3M2A1866C9 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3
this ram should work
