Hey all, went ahead and bought a full size ATX case as I recently upgraded my GPU and it didn't fit correctly. Anyways, let me walk you through what is going on.

This morning I was using this machine in my old case without issue, would boot, take me to internet, everything worked normal.

Since moving all of my same components(motherboard, GPU, RAM, CPU etc)to new machine it power's on for a split second, turns off, comes back on and hangs there. I receive no sort of beeps from the speaker, no images on my screen, no power to USB devices. I am really at a loss here. Below are my system specs and the troubleshooting I have done so far.

Components

Nvidia Geforce GTX 970
Intel i7 3770 ivy bridge CPU
ASUS P8Z77 motherboard
4 sticks of G SKill Ripsaw 4gb RAM
and the new case;

There are some reviews stating that the onboard fan control shorts out causing boot issues. I have disconnected the fan controller and am still having the same issue.

Troubleshooting done thus far;

Tested each stick of ram in A2 slot
booted with no video card
reseated CMOS battery
Tested power supply good with a paperclip
Even went as far to take my old case, and connect the front panel connectors to my motherboard inside the new case. The exact same thing happened, it powers on for a second, then off, back on with no beeps or images, no power to any USB devices.

Anything else I could try?

Is it possible my motherboard has somehow become toast? As far as grounding myself goes, I was working on a hard wood floors, with the machine on a hardwood table and I was wearing Nike's with a rubber sole.

Just some additional info;

I used a multimeter and got the correct voltage from my power supply. So I think it's safe to assume that is good?

For some reason I am leaning towards the motherboard. Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks for the reply. I just finished bread boarding it, and no change, no post or anything. I only included one stick of RAM in the slot specified by my motherboard manual.

At this point it's down to the CPU or the motherboard, I guess I will order another one.

Any other thoughts?

Here is a picture of how it currently sits. The motherboard manual called for a single stick of RAM in slot a2(second over from CPU)I did this, but then moved it to the slot closest to motherboard. Same thing.

Here is a video of what it is doing, as well.

No beeps if zero RAM is inserted.

I just ordered another, different, motherboard and some thermal compound. I'd like to try it now, but I don't think I can, but when you remove a CPU from it's heatsink, you NEED to clean and reapply the compound to the heatsink surface, right?

After further reading about this case, some users have had issues with it shorting out(the fan controller)one user had to replace a few components. I have requested a refund/return for the case.

I wonder what the changes are that my RAM, CPU etc was damaged if it did in fact short out? I will test the RAM in another known working machine later this evening.
