Hi everyone, I'm having trouble getting my new SSD to boot with Windows 8 on my pc. I used reflect to clone my c drive from my old HD to the new SSD using a USB adapter but now that I have put the SSD in the laptop it will not boot windows 8. If I start the PC by itself I get something like "there is no os on this drive." if I boot from the USB stick which has the recovery then reflect loads and I can see the new c drive by going through "fix windows boot problems" however, once I click next I'm prompted to select an active partition to boot from and the new SSD does not show. So went to device management to activate the c drive partition but "mark as active" is greyed out. I've done lots of online research to troubleshoot but got nothing. Please help me out, thanks!!

Change your BIOS drive type to AHCI. If that doesn't work change the type back to IDE and boot with your old drive. Add the AHCI drivers for your motherboard on your old disk and then clone it again. Install the new backup on your new SSD then change your BIOS back to AHCI before you boot with your new SSD. That worked for me in Windows 7.
