Hi guys!

So I just finished building my new computer and I'm trying to install Windows 7. I took the DVD Drive from my old computer and put it in the new one. It's hooked up properly, and I changed the Boot Order to go to the DVD Drive first. However, whenever I try to boot from the disc, it says:

Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key

Any ideas or suggestions?

There MIGHT be the problem. You can't just copy the ISO. You have to burn the ISO specially. See this article -- http://www.wikihow.com/Burn-ISO-Files-to-DVD

Here is the link to imgburn -- http://www.imgburn.com/

It's a disc I made. I set it up with the option "Like a USB/Flash Drive" and then copied an ISO onto it. And I think the DVD drive is going to SATA 3. I can check and switch it though.

Oooh. Ok I didn't know there was a difference...it just seemed easier to drag the ISO from desktop into D:/ folder.

Edit: currently burning the ISO with imgburn. I'll let you know how it goes.

Edit 2: It worked! I gave the DVD drive a legacy port and burned the ISO to a new disc. Thanks a ton kanewolf!
