Open your case and look inside. If it looks like this: http://dell.origin.bazaarvoice.com/2341-en_my_ng/594232/photo.jpg
...you have severe issues making it a gamer.

The 1st is the size of the PSU. Look at the nameplate on the PSU. Does it look like this: http://en.community.dell.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/3515/5732.5NV0T.jpg
...if so, it is a small 220W unit with a tiny 18A (+12v) rail. And no, upgrading it is not practical since it is a proprietary design.

The 2nd is the fact that the PCIe x16 slot is right up against the side of the case. And you are limited to a very short card, too. You will need not only a low profile card, but one that is single slot in width.

That and the PSU will limit you to this 64 bit, DDR5 GT 730 as the best card you can use: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133542
It fits the above requirements, not a high powered card, but it will be a major upgrade to the integrated graphics.

My choice too would be for the GT 740 if it wasn't for that tiny 18A (+12V) rail. The GT 740 is a 64W card at max load. Even the GTX 750 Ti is only a 60W (TDP) card at reference. Then again, Dell always used to use good quality PSUs. But I never like to push a PSU beyond 80% of its max capacity.

I would not argue with this, official point of view, but as you mentioned yourself, Dell PSUs somewhat underrated.
I am more practical person, this is how I end up with PC upgraded beyond Dell specs and overclocked - everything is possible here.

I like examples to speak in my support.
