hello, I have a toshiba satellite c50-a-1dv which is currently being super slow.

This is what happened...

About a week ago i ran a rootkit (obv didnt know it was a rootkit) and it came up with and error and created a program called chrome.exe. Avast then removed chrome.exe and all virus scans came up fine

two dys ago i installed windows 10 and about one day ago my problems started. Firstly, all my programs stopped responding completely and forced me to restart. i restarted ovrer and over because of the slowness i experienced with each restart

eventually i factory reset windows and my problems continued, now I couldnt even get past the cntinue screen without a freeze.

two hours ago i started the toshiba repair function and have been stuck on the attempting repairs screen. obviusly im not stupid and wont restart now, but Im really worried tnat ill be stuck on the attempting repairs screen forever.

I have no recovery disk or anything like that, so any one have solutions??

If you are comfortable with resetting your device to just Windows 10, losing all files, applications, and settings along the way, you can use a USB stick to clean install Windows 10 by downloading the program from microsoft at this page: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 . It will have to be run from a different Windows computer and requires a 4GB+ USB 2.0+ stick, but it should be able to install the OS properly.

If you want to be extra careful, you might want to update the UEFI firmware on your laptop first (usually possible with USB) to make sure nothing stays there either.
