Hi everyone. I built my pc 1 year ago. Everything is great but my pc restarted like 15-20 times for the last year. It may not be a big deal but it's getting really annoying and i started to worry. It only resets itself while playing AAA games.
These games are Batman Arkham Knight, The Witcher 3, GTA V and Far Cry 4. The last restart was today while playing Far Cry 4. I play CS:GO and DotA 2 without any resets.
I usually use MSI Afterburner while playing. Here are some datas from msi afterburner while i play Far Cry 4 today;
Cpu temperature is between 52-56 degrees,
Gpu temperature is between 55-76 degrees,
Gpu Vram usage is below 3GB,
Ram usage is below 4GB.

My PC specifications;
Intel i5 4590 CPU
MSI Z97 Gaming 3 Motherboard
MSI GTX 980 Gaming 4G GPU
Gskill Ripjaws 8GB (2x4GB) 1600Mhz Ram
250GB Samsung Evo SSD
1TB Seagate HDD
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler
Corsair 300WR case
Corsair VS650 psu.

A friend of mine showed me this quote:
it was PSU! came out that 750W was not enough for my system to handle gtx 980, i replaced it with 1200W power supply and everything is fine now.

My Corsair VS650 PSU is 650W and it supplies 600W from 12V channel. Does my PSU not enough for single GTX 980? Please help me guys. If it's not psu then what may cause it?

Note: I never overclocked my GTX 980 before. People told me that Corsair VS650 will be enough for GTX 980 without overclocking so i bought it last year.

Edit: I bought Corsair VS650 in july 2014 but i bought GTX 980 in march 2015.

I ran OCCT test. Here are the test results. Please help me guys.

Voltage was always below 12V. I saw 10.64V max. I ran the test twice. When i run the first test, pc restarted itself in 25-30 seconds. Then i ran the second test for 5 minutes. There is no restart. It went well.

Well the only way its the power supply is if something is wrong with it, 650watts is more than enough for a 980 I would be comfortable with a good quality 550watt psu on your system. The corsair VS is not the best power supply in the world how old is it? Did you buy it used? Do you live in an area with frequent power outages and unstable power?

It could also be driver related, are you running the latest nvidia graphics drivers for your 980?

Hi. Thanks for your answer. All my pc hardwares are brand new. I bought Corsair VS650 in july 2014 and bought GTX 980 in march 2015. I used Intel HD 4600 onboard gpu until i get GTX 980.
There is no power outage here. Maybe once or twice a year. My GTX 980 driver is up to date. I am running 64 bit windows 10 pro and my gpu driver is 355.60. My motherboard bios is also up to date.
If not psu then i don't know what may cause it. :(

Okay well there are a few things we can try.

I dont believe your power supply is "haswell certified" so it is not compatible with certain features of your cpu mostly its low power states this can cause crashes and blue screens. You can disable these features in your bios im not exactly sure where but look around they are called core C6 and core C7 power states you want to disable these. In my bios they are located under cpu configuration it might be called something a bit diffrent in your msi bios.
