HELP! Just installed lubuntu, but it wont boot, Dashing red line in top left corner

I just finsihed installing lubuntu, and it said to reboot and remove media device. So i did that but all i get is a flashing red dash in the top left corner of the screen. Please help, I am using an eepc 1000ha

installed win xp.
(just delete all partitions and create a new one)

You probably needed to simply reinstall as there may have been a problem during the install. You also may try Mint instead as it will have more drivers. But if you connect to the internet or share a USB with another computer XP can be risky.

The next time you install Lubuntu, make sure you install GRUB. Then boot into Linux and issue 'sudo update-grub'.
