When changing graphics card I have read that you should uninstall the drivers. I am currently using a nvidia geforce 760 and I am changing to an nvidia 960. When I go into my programs and search nvidia this is what comes up:

3d Vision controller driver
3d Vision driver
Graphics driver
HD Audio driver
GeForce experience
PhysX System Software

Do all of these need to be removed before installing the new one?

Both cards use the same drivers and software.
You need do nothing.
Remove your old card and install the new.

If you really want to redo things, uninstall all of the nvidia software via control panel and swap cards.
The new card will run in a default low res mode without any driver at all.
When you install the nvidia driver, you will get your full resolution.

No no no ^. Whenever you install a new graphics card you always have to uninstall the old divers. Install ddu and select the option to clean and shutdown (for new graphics card) Remove your old card and put the 960 in. Install the latest nvidia drivers. Enjoy

^ not necessarily. Just swapping the card should do unless it is newly release card needing drivers have support for it. I have done in the past and it work just fine. But of course you can do clean install if you want to. Or the new cards have problems problem after the swipe without removing the driver first.

When you change from amd to nvidia or vice versa, a new driver to support the new device will be required.
Windows since XP allows multiple different graphics adapters and the associated drivers so removing the old drivers and software should not be necessary.
Current nvidia drivers recognize old nvidia versions and will remove what is necessary when updating to a new release.
I can't say for certain about amd drivers; I have not used them in a while.
