Higher ghz and lower cache or higher cache and lower ghz

I'm looking for a cpu for a new pc build and I was wondering which was better having a higher ghz and lower cache or having a higher cache and lower ghz?

There is no good way to answer that. If you have two specific model CPUs then we could give you some feedback. There isn't a good rule of thumb when comparing one random CPU to another random CPU.

i3 41xx vs i3 43xx? Higher Ghz is better because i3 don't have turbo boost.

With those two CPUs then the 4350 will out perform in most situations. You still have 2MB L2 cache / 2 cores. You have 8MB L3 cache on both CPUs. Clock speed will win. If you have something that needs more cores and can use all cores then the 6300 might keep up.

6300 is better than the 4350 in all ways..just overclock the 6300 past the 4350s clock speed, you cant add 2 cores to the 4350.
