windows 8 laptop wont reset or restart

Something is wrong with my laptop, Microsoft windows programs are not working. It also shows error 1719 which I can't fix and it won't restart or reset to factory settings... please help!! My laptop is a Compaq CQ58

Sounds like you have a corrupted installer file or possibly a virus. Using the sfc /scannow command in the command prompt might help.

As for restarting, simply press windows+r and then type shutdown.exe -r -f -t 0 and it should restart
