My HP Pavilion 2000 series laptop came with Windows 8. I upgraded to 8.1 and now just upgraded to 10. I then tried a complete wipe instead of resetting and keep my personal files. I never made a backup copy of my windows 8 and need to know how to find my product key so I can download and re-install windows 8. I do have a Boot CD but it is one I bought off of eBay and it is called "RepairOS System Fixer For All Windows Computers". Can I use this to access my computer and then to find my product key? Any suggestions?? Thanks!

You will need to contact HP for your restore disk set. You cannot download OEM software, only the retail packages afaik.
Once you get going, you wont need the key as the installer will find and read it directly from your motherbd's firmware.

If your computer came with Windows 8.1, you should be able to download a real ISO from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media (never trust garbage from ebay, it's usually pirated and filled with viruses, if it's even Windows at all). The product key will be in the bios and the installer will automatically read it during install. You do not need to know your product key anymore, it's all automatic for OEM systems.
