Okay, so I recently installed the PhysX Legacy thing for some old games. But now, all of the sudden all the games that used PhysX and such are all getting horrible framerate. These games were on the highest settings 1080p 60 fps. I really hope someone can help..

Solution
Yes it has. Like I said, I didn't tighten the heatsink completely, so the CPU was overheating. Re tightened and now it's back to everything on smooth! Thank you for the help none the less, greatly appreciated for taking your time to help.

Do you have a current set of PhysX drivers also installed? (i think you can have both at once). if not, that's why your new games are having problems as they are designed and tested against newer versions.

I do, I've tried to reinstall them to at least repair but it only tells me that the same version or newer is already installed and I can't go any further. This happened as soon as I installed the Legacy driver.

[strike]Might you give us your CPU and GPU model along with your OS and the game in question that you need the legacy drivers for?

You could try uninstalling the legacy drivers and see if that allows you to install the normal ones and fixes the issues in newer titles. If so, then for sure the legacy drivers are the issue. My suggestion is to then clean wipe the PhysX driver and run the installer for the version that’s included in the game installer for the old title. Once that’s installed, launch the game to verify it works. If it does, run the installer for an up to date package (not the legacy marked ones) and see if that will complete and work.[/strike]

edit....
well, if you don't need the legacy ones any more. just uninstall the legacy drivers, restart, and install the current ones. that should resolve your issues.

And before I get told to look, I've checking my CPU Usage and GPU Temp during the game and it's the same as it would be normally, now I just get horrible framerate and this happened ever since Legacy but doesn't seem to be the problem.
