Looking to get better fps in games like dayz I get good frames for the most part but when I stream and go in to city's see low frames like 15 or 10 looking at spending about a grand on upgrading cpu and or gpu and if mother board is needed to be upgraded to support cpu let me know please or if power supply needs to be more. should I go for 16gb or ram. Also is it as easy as just plugging then in amd installing drivers. If you could post part names and prices that I would be grateful.

I currently have
ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS AM3+ AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

MSI AMD Radeon R9 270X Gaming 2GB GDDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card

8gb of ram

550 watt power supply

AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 6-Core Processor Black Edition

If you could help me out this was my first build so if it suck go easy on me. just need guided to a better computer. also if you see somone comment and think it good let me know. Thank you for your help from a new pc builder

Solution
Your rig is fine for gaming.

DayZ is a horrible metric to judge overall performance. You can throw gazillions of dollars at it and still see big frame drops.

Then we have to know how much you're willing to spend.

i put about a grand ($1000)

Yes, you put (past tense) but you're going to have to put more money into it now for your expectations to rise. Basically, a new graphics card. It'd also be nice to know the specific of what power supply you own.

i know i spent 700 on this built looking to put 1000 into upgrading and it a XFX TS 550w full wired = bronze power supply- p1550sxxb9

You have a good power supply, so that is fine. With $1000 there are so many options you have, there is no right answer really. You could go Intel with an I7 CPU and mobo, and get a GTX 970, or you could upgrade to an FX 8350 and get a better GPU, such as a 380. I think you're willing to spend more than you need to spend honestly. All you really need is a better graphics card. You could get much higher FPS with only $300.

i figured it was alot also is it as easy as just takeing the old one out and putting new one in and installing drivers?

Yes that basically sums it up. But you uninstall the old drivers before switching cards.
