Hello, looking for advice.

I have a Dell XPS 8300 Desktop Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz,16 GB DDR3 Memory,1.0TB Hard Drive, 1GB AMD Radeon HD Graphics, 19-in-1 Media Card Reader, Windows 7 Home Edition Premium, Blu-Ray Drive with a 6700invidia.

I would like to upgrade to a better graphics card asap, but Im having trouble verifying if this machine has a smaller case or not. I have herd that many do, I also would prefer not to upgrade power supplies, but if needed I will.

Please give me best suggestions on cards without new power supplies that will work in my machine vs those that will only work with a new power supply and please list the power supply that will work as well.
I would also like a solid state if possible!

Hope I made sense, I appreciate any help in this matter! I need to get another good year or 2 out of this machine before I can do a serious purchase of a new machine.

-Thanks

Solution
Power supply (PSU) is 460 watt, can support maximum GTX960, but upgrade will be required anyway within a month or two, because it can barely support GTX 960.

What is really important is XPS 8000 series compatibility issues with latest high end cards. Here what you should know, when doing the selection.
AMD GPU compatibility issues. Sapphire is compatible all, including high end. All others are hit and miss starting roughly from R7 370 and up. XFX is not compatible at all, Asus hit and miss, MSI mostly compatible.

NVIDIA GTX900 series. PNY compatible, Asus and EVGA hit and miss, MSI mostly compatible, Gygabite mostly not compatible, so think before you buy.

Look here for a few exact models, which worked and verified...

hwinfo says;
Intel Core i7-2600
stepping d2
4 cores
sandy-bridge dt
socket h2 (lga1155)

AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series
ATI/AMD Radeon HD 5770 (JUNIPER XT)
PCIe v2.0 x16 (2.5 Gb/s) @ x16 (2.5 Gb/s)

but I don't know how to find out what the power supply is.
:(
