Idle temp is good with the graphics card but i noticed recently after i cleaned my computer the fan was making a louder noise than usual so I thought its just getting the best air flow, because It was really dusty before, but after looking at the temps when I play games, I am curious if 80-85 c is acceptable temp for the graphics card.

I don't have the temps from before sadly. Curious if those temps were acceptable, do you think those temps are fine, i m getting more fans for my case soon, so that should help.

I'd say it was ok but not great.

Have you checked the card to make sure there is nothing stuck in the heatsink fins or fans?

Have you tried running it with an open case, I mean without the side on, if it runs cooler you know you have an airflow issue internally and extra fans could help.

I'm sure you can read fine, I would have just thought that the Tahiti chip would generally run a bit cooler than the Caymen and most of the comparisons and reviews I have seen confirm this, I have had 7950's and 7970's and although I agree 83C wont kill the card its still not a great temp even for a blower heatsink.

My 280X which is basically a rebadged 7970 runs even cooler, around 70C under load.

The 290/290X is a different beast, notoriously hot, mine used to run 90C+ but apparently that was safe, personally I don't want something in my case I can fry eggs on.
