Hello everyone, bit of an odd problem.
There was a freak thunder storm at my home a few nights ago and since then I have not been able to use the ethernet port on my motherboard. Windows 8.1 will simply not recognize that a cable is plugged in there.
The only thing I'm thinking is that the port is in some kind of standby mode, because when I tried to power my computer on the next morning, it wouldn't power on and I had to actually turn off the PSU and turn it back on to get my computer to boot. As far as I know, nothing else on the computer has been damaged.
