So i just installed a new Mobo (Asus P9D-M server motherboard) and tried using
G.Skill 16GB(2x8G) DDR3-1333 Dual Channel RAM sticks.
However motherboard wouldnt boot into BIOS.
Although when I tried using an old RAM stick
hynix RAM 1GB 1Rx8 PC3-10600E-9-10-D0

The motherboard managed to boot. I'm curious as to why this is, they are basically the same specs, both DDR3 both 1333MGHz, but only the 1GB one works as opposed to an 8GB one and this motherboard is fairly current.
Does the capacity of a stick affect it being recognised? The mobo says it can support up to 32gb memory...

Note:
here is what it says my mobo can support:
Memory
Number of DDR3 Slots-4 x 240pin
DDR3 Standard
DDR3 1600/1333
Maximum Memory Supported-32GB
Channel Supported-Dual Channel
ECC Supported-Yes

Any help is appreciated.
Cheers.
