I Just bought a ga 970a d3p and corsair vengeance black 1866 4 x 4gb (4 sticks cmz8gx3m2a1866c9) both of which are supposed to run 1866 without oc but when I try anything over the 1366 default setting i get bsod.

I am running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit with a 240 gig ssd and fx 9590 processor.

Please help

Thanks again tradesman, but the first thing I did was update to the latest bios.

Any other ideas?

Hi Again,

I have been running memtest86 for about 6 hours now with zero errors. the ram is running at 9 10 9 26 888 mhz. I will continue to run it for the rest of the night, but assuming that there are no errors do you have any further ideas?

Much appreciated

I just ran cpu z and uploaded the pics to the dropbox, have a look and tell me what you think.

Every GB 970 board ive used has a nasty habit of trying to set 1333 timings when you set ram to 1866mhz.

What id do is write those timings from the 1864 jedec box down in order.
Enter bios ,set your ram to 1866 & enter those timings manually - you have to do this for all 4 ram channels separately.

If still no dice then try 1600 MHz with the same 1866 timings.

Edit - with 4 sticks installed set the command rate on all channels to 2T.

older board than my ud3p mate,a & b timings may be all it has on your board.
cpu-z may be readin g wrong mate - you never know.
try hwinfo64 mate - untick the sensor only box when you run it so you get the full osd version running - ram speeds/timings are shown bottom left
