I have a dell Inspirion running Windowns 8.1 and I am able to connect to many other wireless networks except the one at home. It appears on the discovered list of networks but every time i try to connect i keep getting the message that it won't connect to the network. all my other devices such as iphones, ipad and other computers don't have this problem. i have tried rebooting, releasing and reset the ipconfig, configuring an IP and gateway too but to no avail. however it works through the ethernet wire. please help.

Login in to router's web-based setup page. usually it is http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1

it will prompt username and password. refer the router's manual for default password, or google the router's model number to get the default password.

Look for "Wireless" or "802.11" options and check whether blacklist or whitelist configured for this router.

Allow all devices to connect to make sure your laptop connects with your router's WiFi signal.
