Err, do you mean that you "Quit" out of Word and lost the document? If so, it's going to depend on whether or not you set it up to do automatic saves. If you open a new Word window, does it put up a message about recovering a document? If not, you may be out of luck.

If there is nothing in the clipboard (where you paste from), you can't get it back if you did not save the document with the text.
