PC didn't POST with gpu#1, I try with gpu#2, POST successful. I send gpu#1 to manufacturer, they say it works flawlessly.

Hi, as the title states I'm having issues with my gpu and I would like to know what other tests I should do once they send me back my defective gpu. I've already tried with a different cable and a different monitor and the fact that PC boots successfully with another gpu is confusing me.

If gpu#1 works with the manufacturer on another system, what does that mean for me? Gpu#1 used to work flawlessly at first but it eventually started "glitching" and would have moments where it would work, and others where it didn't, but all I had to do was restart my PC a couple times. When the PC truly didn't want to POST after multiple restarts is when I brought my PC to a shop to have it tested since I don't have any other components at home (first build). When we concluded that the PC POSTed successfully with another gpu is when I sent gpu#1 for an RMA.

Gpu#1 is an XFX R9 280x, and I don't know what the other gpu was. If anyone has experience with XFX support please let me know! For now I've sent them a reply stating that the gpu has fluctuated before working and not working before.

Thank you very much for your time!

Hello... That is a High end High power GPU card...
1) MB bio's update might be needed.
2) Under powered PS ? that's a 250 watt GPU
3) BAD Alignment with your MB slot when case screw is screwed in.
4) Video card connector needs cleaned.
5) Monitor/Cable/connector used.

The point is these companies get a lot returns due too problems with the installation/software/connections and use of... Is your Computer Experience and testing GOOD enough to OverRide, contradict their Findings and Conclusion at this time?

Return the Card to the Retailer for a different one...

If you RMA it record the serial # on it to see what they send you back.

Hi, thank you very much for taking the time to reply!

1) I don't think it can be this, since the gpu has worked before?
2) PSU is 750w, my gpu typically needs 600w minimum.
3) It doesn't work even when the side panel isn't screwed in.
4) The build is very, very, very new. I doubt it's dirty.
5) I've tried with multiple monitors and multiple cables. I'll give a new connector a try.
