Best way to recover very old deleted text messages?

My mother accidentally deleted text messages from her iPhone 5C because she's not very tech savvy. These messages are quite old from many months ago and some were important and very dear to her and she is devastated that they are gone. She does not have her phone synced to a computer so I cannot restore the info from iTunes. iCloud is confusing and doesn't seem to have her messages stored in it, and also claimed it backed up after she had deleted them, so I assume there are gone from iCloud.
I looked for a solution and what I found were two programs, Wondershare Dr.Fone, and Tenorshare, I tried the free version of these since the licensed versions are VERY expensive and all they could do is find the old data, display it in a total illegible mess with no order or correct dates/contacts, and not let me do anything with it unless I pay for it. She uses Verizon and they only keep messages for two weeks so they will not be there. I then learned about the SIM card and SIM card readers, I saw the Dekhart SIM Card Reader for a reasonable price, but some reviews say it can only keep 30 of the most recent messages on it, is that true? My mother had hundreds of messages saved so only 30 would defeat the purpose. Are there any other ways I could use my computer to get that info off her phone or SIM card? Or could she possibly take her phone to the Verizon store and have them restore that data?

Without a backup, there is pretty much no way to get the texts back, only thing you can do is try the paid versions of the programs to see what they can do or check with Verizon but they...

I sympathize with you, it took me 2 years just to try and teach my mother just to use an ATM machine, the best thing I did was say to her: "No more help, do it yourself!". She learned it in a week. They have no respect for modern technology, they just mash on the keyboard like animals and hope for the best, then they ask you to fix the damage... then they call us kids!

You tell your mother that it is a phone, not a concrete mixer, and what happened to her was punishment for her "don't care about tech" attitude and she better take the effort to learn or something worse might happen next time.

Those message are pretty much gone, if you think the Verizon store may help, bring it there but I doubt they can do anything.

About Dr Fone, in the test it did not bring back text messages. "At first glance, Dr. Fone seemed pretty capable of recovering lost files. I deleted multiple contacts, photos, videos, text messages, and bookmarks, as well as the complete call history, from an iPhone 4, and Dr. Fone was able to find all of the files except for the deleted text messages. "

Actually I'm still here. and I still watch and read every reply sent. I feel like the people answering me haven't even read my post in it's entirety because their solutions are things I've said I've already tried. For example, one solution someone gave me was to try Dr.Fone....that's in my post that I've already tried it, another said to connect to my computer and restore from iTunes....the info relevant to that is also in my post, and is not possible for me to do.

Without a backup, there is pretty much no way to get the texts back, only thing you can do is try the paid versions of the programs to see what they can do or check with Verizon but they will say with 99% certainty that the messages are gone. They don't keep backups of text messages sent. If you read that review of Dr Fone I quoted, it recovered things, but NOT text messages. Backup, backup, and backup the backups, that's the only way to keep from losing stuff.
