My mother accidentally deleted text messages from her iPhone 5C because she's not very tech savvy. These messages are quite old from many months ago and some were important and very dear to her and she is devastated that they are gone. She does not have her phone synced to a computer so I cannot restore the info from iTunes. iCloud is confusing and doesn't seem to have her messages stored in it, and also claimed it backed up after she had deleted them, so I assume there are gone from iCloud.
I looked for a solution and what I found were two programs, Wondershare Dr.Fone, and Tenorshare, I tried the free version of these since the licensed versions are VERY expensive and all they could do is find the old data, display it in a total illegible mess with no order or correct dates/contacts, and not let me do anything with it unless I pay for it. She uses Verizon and they only keep messages for two weeks so they will not be there. I then learned about the SIM card and SIM card readers, I saw the Dekhart SIM Card Reader for a reasonable price, but some reviews say it can only keep 30 of the most recent messages on it, is that true? My mother had hundreds of messages saved so only 30 would defeat the purpose. Are there any other ways I could use my computer to get that info off her phone or SIM card? Or could she possibly take her phone to the Verizon store and have them restore that data?
