How much slower would it be to save backup to USB2.0/3.0 external hard disk vs internal hard disk?

I am comparing saving backup to internal hard disk vs USB 3.0/2.0 USB external hard disk

A. Backing up to an internal 3.5 hard disk vs backing up to an external 2.5 hard disk using USB 3.0, roughly how much extra time would the external backup need to complete the backup process?

B. Backing up to an internal 3.5 hard disk vs backing up to an external 2.5 hard disk using USB 2.0, roughly how much extra time would the external backup need to complete the backup process?

Thanks

Whilst having an internal backup is better than non, you're better off having an external in my opinion.

This is because if your machine is stolen, or your house gets flooded, you always have your external hidden away somewhere else (and hopefully that doesn't get damaged/stolen too).

If you have the budget for both that's great. With Windows 10, I tend to run file history on my important files on my SSD onto an internal disk, then nightly I have system backups on externals (that get swapped weekly). Just allows for more redundancy! :)

Hope this helps!
