Is this a good gaming build?

is this a good build to run games at high or ultra settings:

MOBO: MSI 970A-g43
CPU: AMD FX 6300
RAM:Kingston Hyperx Fury 2x 4GB 1866MHZ
HDD: Wester Digital Blue 1TB
GPU: Powercolor r9 280X
Case: Zalman Z11 Plus
PSU: Corsair cx500

and will I also need a BIOS update because PCpartpicker says I might need to update it

i have heard some bad stories about the msi am3+ motherboards (excluding the new gaming series) and the psu is not high quality, and you really want a very good psu because if your psu dies it can take the whole pc with it, and even cause a fire (i thrust that it is not that bad that it will cause a fire, but failure and destroying your pc is what it may do)
take a psu from this list (tier 1 or 2, or if you have to tier 3, but not any lower)

NOTE: this forum post is over! my PC works great. I have had it for over 4 months now and i have overclocked my graphics card with no problems and I can play almost any game on ultra 60FPS+ so there is nothing wrong with this build
