Will my Phenom II X4 945 bottleneck an R9 290?

This may be a silly question for the experienced folks, but I'm trying to wrap my head around this whole business of bottlenecking in a system. My current build is as follows:

Motherboard: MSI 870-G45 AMD 870 Socket AM3 Motherboard
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0Ghz 6MB AM3 OEM
Power Supply: Seasonic M12ii Bronze 750w
RAM: 16gb
Current GPU: GTS-450 1GB

I have been looking at the R9 290 because of the price/performance ratio, and have just generally heard great things. Will it be overkill for my build though?

I'm hoping to be able to play some newer titles that I currently can't (new FIFA, potentially GTA V). I also play WoW and would enjoy being able to crank the graphics up to ultra on that and most other games I play. It's on a 1080p monitor btw, and I don't really have the desire (or the budget) to upgrade my monitor any time soon.

Will I need to upgrade my processor (and maybe even other components) to make a GPU upgrade worthwhile?

Thanks for the help as always!

The 290 sure will bottlenecked bt the cpu. But instead of change all the platform you can buy R9-270 in 160$ and overclock your CPU to 3.6 ghz enjoying with smooth 1080p game play.
I'd seen in most of forms every one want to have high end components ( CPU & GPU) to play on ultr? but you can play in high instead of ultra and you will not recognize the difference between them without wast a money. Then in one or two years you can change all the platform to new setup with latest i7 and GPU lasting for four or five years.
