I have this rig for a few months now and havent unlocked its overclocking as i should cause lots of people say my mobo wil fry i try to get 4ghz or 4.2ghz.So here is my question can i?I do not run my pc 24/7,the mobo is Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 and the cooler for cpu is coolermaster 212x.

Your motherboard is not very well suited, to overclocking, but does support FX 8350. 4.0ghz, with just a mulitiplier change, shouldn't be a problem.

There is no cooling on the VRMs however it is an 8+2 so it will supply plenty of voltage. TO be safe buy these:

And put them on the VRMs,
The VRMs are those little square chips on the top right under where it says USB 3.0 boost. There are 10 of them.

You are correct I don't know why I even said that, looks like 4+1. And yes its not for Overclock, but if you add those heatsinks they can allow for some.

It won't be a huge bump but it can help. You can't get much out of it and you should do a lot of testing as that board can't really overclock much.
