Hi guyz,
I am buying Evga gtx 970 SSC for my new PC.
Some of my friendz told me to wait for Black Friday and Christmas , as prices will go down .
I cant wait for 3-4 months .
QS: Is it worth waiting till December ? i mean if the the prices would go down more than 50 USD dollars then i can wait but if it does not go down that much then i'll buy it right now.
how much will the cost go down(maximum)?
Qs: What's the difference between evga gtx 970 ssc [2.0 and 2.0+]?
Qs: i am running my PC with my old gpu 9500 gt , i did not use thermal paste on the processor, as there were some kind of paste already on the the fan that is above the processor,Should i use thermal paste on it ? or is this ok , and how much time till i put thermal paste on it ? i used this for about 2-3 months.
Qs: How will my pc perform with the Evga gtx 970 SSC on 1920x1080 resolution, how will it run games like AC Unity , Gta V , COD Advance Warfare , The Witcher 3 , Thief , Batman Arkam Origins , Far Cry 4 , Metal Gear Solid V and many other new and good games.

My new Pc specs;
Msi Z97 Gaming 5 Mobo.
Intel core i5 4690k OC upto 4.0 GHz.
8 Gb ddr3 ram.
Psu Tauro bronze 500 W.

Probably nothing. The items you want are almost never discounted, especially high in demand items like CPUs and GPUs. What gets discounted is high volume, low selling crap that the stores can't get rid of the rest of the year. The only way you'll ever save anything on your system is if you have access to a Micro Center and you can purchase the motherboard and CPU as a combo and save money there. Otherwise you almost won't likely get any sort of discount other than that.

Qs: What's the difference...

Firstly, thermal paste is very important. For this reason even if it's pre applied, I make sure I wipe it off and add my own for right of mind. It could burn out if you don't put it on.

It's up to you about waiting for Christmas. Can you wait? Or do you need it right now? It might not even fall in price around Christmas, you never know.

The AXC 2.0/2.0+ is referring to version of the card cooler used inside the GPU :)

I've never heard of that make PSU before. Did it come with the case you brought? If so I advise replacing it for a 750W PSU. Other than that, I'm more than confident for your machine to run on high/ultra settings, as my PC specs are slightly better and max out on all latest games!

Hope this helps c:

1) We don't have a crystal ball to predect the future. Possible it would go down by more then $50, possible it wont. Now if you wait for the next generation cards then the 970 will drop pretty good in price

2) Don't know the difference without doing the same google search you could do.

3) If you removed the fan from the gpu (separating the paste) then you need to apply new paste. If you have not removed anything then it came with paste and it is just fine.

4) At 1080p the 970 will play high end AAA games at or right bellow max settings at 60 fps or better.

Most likely just the stock VRAM clock. The MSI Twin Frozr V and Gigabyte Windforce are much better coolers than the EVGA ACX though.

Yeah you don't really need it if you're using the pre-applied paste on the fan to begin with.

It'll handle 1080P without breaking a sweat.

Go with the new 6600K and a Z170 motherboard, that will ensure system longevity in the long run. Not sure about that PSU, you will want something like a Seasonic G series or EVGA G2/P2/B2/T2, or Corsair AXI/HXI, those are the main units you should be looking at.

i think i should buy the gpu now (as i cant wait)(also as this gpu is one of the new generationg so it wont go down much)
i'll put some paste after a month or two.
i have already bought processor and other stuff except for gpu.
i've calculated my pc requirement ffor psu on online psu calculators , my pc uses about 400-410W so i think 500W is enough(i'll change it to a better league, gold, later)
i think i should go for Evga gtx 970 SSC 2.0+

thanx for help guyz,i wish i could select "Pick as the solution" for all of u but it's not possible.
thanx again

It's a current generation card and yes prices won't expect to drop any time soon. However, I still stand by my suggestion of going with the MSI Twin Frozr V - I have the same card and it's a million times better cooler than any EVGA card I've ever owned. The cooler is very solidly constructed, and most have a back plate and LED illumination - something that almost no EVGA cards have included.

No buy a better unit. There is no unit of measurement that accurately describes the amount of emphasis we place here on the importance of a good power supply. Get a good one and it will last for years. Get a bad one and it will short out on you, or worse, blow up and take your system out with it. Look at the units I suggested - they are among the best units out there you can buy.

you are right , i need a better cooling as i live in pakistan , and the surrounding temps are very hot ,also i am not the overclocking type of guy, so evga does not benefit me soo much.. twin froser v has quiet a nice and stylish look .... and also evga is without back-plate so that's gonna be a bother....
Qs:By twin frozr v u, you mean these?
