Hi.

I am pretty new to this but thought it would be easy to replace my AMD Radeon HD7770 with an ASUS Turbo GTX 960.

I was able to open the computer, take out the old card, and install the new one.

I'm confident I did this correctly.

However, when I start my computer it tells me the hard drive can't be detected or has failed.

What can I do??????

THANK YOU!!

BTW: when I start up it shows me the HP symbol on the monitor plugged into the DP outlet on the video card, but then it tells me about the boot disk/hard drive failure.

Solution
There is a white cable you have to put back into the slot, always gets knocked out when moving the graphics since the 960 is quite a big card. The white cable is the key. GL

Further thoughts/questions:

Is it possible I did something to the hard drive when I installed the new video card?

Or is this more likely a problem that can be resolved through the computer?

I have tried to insert the old graphics card nstead the new one, but the error persists: can't detect hard drive or says it failed."

BUT when I run the diagnostics it says the test succeeded.
Sie: 16GB
Model: Sandisk XXXXXXXXXXX
Firmware: CS.54.06
LOcation: Sata1

ALL of this worked before I removed the old graphics card, so maybe I did something dumb by accident?

No ideas here -- please do help!! THANKS!

Thanks.

Can you provide any more detail?? Is the while cable white or just the end? Where does it go? How many prongs or what does it look like?

I see black and white cable with a 2-prong head. Is that it? I can't find anywhere that would fit.

What are you referring to exactly? Thank you!
