Hello guys

i would like to know if upgrading the pc buying a ps4 or trying to squeeze out both is the best solution

i have near 900$ saved and thou i know my cpu is not the best of the top tier ones out there ;)
my pcs specs are not that bad:

xfx pro series xxx 850w
gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming
fm2a5m-dgs
a10-6800k
8gb dd3 kingston 2400mhz dual channel ram
western digital 1tb hdd
flamingo fc-fm case
artic freezer 13

on one hand having 2 gaming systems is pointless bcs i cant play 2 games at once xD
on the other i could try out the exclusives like infamous second son and bloodborne

but mainly the games i play are cpu bound like starcraft 2 and guild wars 2 and arma 3
also i rarely play at home mostly i stream my games to my nvidia shield and as far as i know streaming is cpu bound too

my monitor resolution is 900p
my tv resolution is 720p

Thank you for reading my thread and helping me

You have some great parts in your PC, all you need to do is get better CPU like i5 4690k or if you stream Xeon e3 1231 v3 (i7 without IGPU) or i7 4790k.
New motherboard fo new CPU and thats it keep the rest maybe a bit better case for better airflow and cooling and if you want PS4 you will have more than enough money left to buy it

this will surely be a streaming pc to the nvidia shield (thats why i bought the gtx 970 in there)
as far as i know that xeon doesnt overclock right?
do i have a chanse to go for the i7 6700k? what do you think is it worth the extra money??(like 30% more expensive than a i7 4790k where i live)

No, you cant OC XEON

Wiht your budget yes you could go with i7 6700k, but in my opnion is not worth it. its maybe just a little tiny bit better than i7 4790k, another difference is i7 6700k has better IGPU which you wont use since you have GTX 970. thats basically it. So not any big difference

and dont forget you would also need new ram, since Skylake uses DDR4

thank you for your reply

i know about ddr4 but its not that big of a difference (neither in price nor in gaming performance)
but skylake mobos are expensive without a doubt :/
also i dont think the i7 6700k is 30% better than the i7 4790k or is it?
with this apu im used to good igpu performance for example the gtx 970 is not in the computer now xD

Yes, for 1151 socket there will be new CPUs released so you will be able to upgrade CPU in the future without getting new motherboard.

As far as i know there wont be any new CPUs released for 1150 socket

I would go with i7 4790k it will last you a long time CPU dont get old that fast as GPU. old socket 1155 CPU are still doing great today.

i7 6700k maybe if you plan to upgrade, but i think you wont need to upgrade for a long tims so its no worth it

wouldnt even touch i7 5820k is way overpriced and you probably dont need 6 cores for streaming

the only problem with the igpu is that im getting like 14-30 fps in prototype 1 in 900p lol xD
(i still consider that playable so no matter)
the i7 5820k is cheaper than the i7 6700k here xD

if the prices for the i7 6700k will become reasonable till 10th of september i think i will just go for it :D (reasonable is max 10% more price than a i7 4790k)

wait there a second are you saying that my 100$ cpu has a better igpu than the newest best intel out there?
thats just... wow i cant belive its so amazing xD
but i thought they improved on the igpu
(not like its a big deal my gpu is not in the computer only because its brand new and i havent havent took it out of the box jet
but removing and puting back a video card is not my favorite hobby so once its installed i wont remove it)

Yes the CPU you have right now is APU special line of AMD CPUs with good IGPU for people that cant afford dedicated GPU. Just so even if its strong for IGPUs that doesnt mean its a Good GPU, GPUs like gtx 750, r7 260x are much much better and they are very chip.

Anyway it does have good IGPU but the CPU is very weak, i7 is alot alot better i mean ALOT better

im not sure what that ALOT means because I HAVE NEVER EVEN SEEN AN INTEL CPU! LOL
but my apu is worlds better than the sempron 2200+ that was in the computer my father built

xfx pro edition 850w
msi Z170A XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM EDITION
i7 6700k
gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming
samsung 850 pro ssd 256gb
western digital 1 tb
noctua nh d15
gskill ripjaws 16gb ddr4 ram

this is the build i was thinking about buying what would you change in it?

8gb of ram is enough for gaming and streaming you would maybe need more for video editing
Make sure you get case big enough for that cooler
everything else looks great

Changing for 8gb will leave me budget for a great case :) That will surely fit this cooler
and i can also easily add more ram down the line if i want
thank you great idea :D

Omg 100fps wtf o_O i thought i would get around that difference if i use the apu with its own igpu i leave thiese stock and the i7 +best cooler i can find with the gtx 970 g1 gaming and i overclock them as hell xD

The 5820k is a 6 core chip, and is priced so close to skylake, right now, that it is difficult to recommend a 6700k. Less than $50, for 2 extra cores, and better streaming capability.

Yes new things are overpriced here but things like the i7 5820k nobody buys here so they need to cut down on the price its almost same as the i7 4790k like 10% more expensive but thats not a big deal
