Alright, so I have had a strict NAT on my Xbox One for over a year now. I have tried UPnP, Port Forwarding, and even DMZ. My ISP does not want to reply to my complaints and I just do not want to deal with them at the moment. I believe the root of my problem lies within the Mikrotik Routerboard that is connected to my router(asus rt-n66r.) I think that even if I change my settings on my router, they will not change due to the routerboard and its conflicted settings.. I do not know how to change the settings, all I know is that I must install RouterOS, which seems like a little much for my knowledge of networking....

Well, anyways, can anybody confirm that this is my problem.. And can anybody recommend a fix?

Thanks in advanced:)

Mikrotik routers are normally used by wireless ISPs, meaning that you may not have a unique public IP address assigned to your connection. Check the WAN side of the Mikrotik router to find if it has a private or public IP address.

How would I go about doing that? As I said, I have no way of getting into that routerboard. I use an Asus router, and then my ISP installed the mikrotik thing...

You can actually check the WAN address of your own router. If it is a private IP address, then port forwarding can't be done through your router. Unfortunately you would have to consult with your ISP for resolution.

The private IPs you will most likely see will be 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x.

I am really sorry, but how would I check my WAN address. In order to get into my router, I do use the 192.168.x.x, but I am not sure if that is what you are talking about.... But when I google what my WAN IP is... it is not private..

When you log in to your router settings, the WAN address is viewable on the first page after log in (Network Map).

If it is other than 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x, then you probably have a public IP address assigned to your router.

I have a private WAN IP.... So, I just have to contact my ISP?
