Guys ... It's the 1st PC that i'm assemblying by myself... so i'm having alot of doubts... here i go again:

I bought the mobo z97x Gaming 5 by gigabyte and i5-4690k. I know they are the same LGA1150 socket (and i tought that would been the only compatibility problem), and I also know that the chipset Z97 offers supporte for Devil's Canyon processors intel.
But when I went looking in the gigabyte website (unfortunatly only after purchase), I found that the support of this motherboard for this processor came only at a later BIOS version (F5 - if i'm not mistaken) to the launch (F3 - initial BIOS version), then there is high possibility of the board get no support and I have to update the BIOS for it work ...

I all my research (that wasnt so good for the looks of it) i remember seeing somewhere that, in this case, i would need a compatible CPU to initialize so i could update the BIOS, then it would recognize the i5-4690k. Is this REALLY the ONLY way?

I tried to contact the Gigabyte support but until now, i didnt get a answer so here I go further more... Anyone knows if theres a way to know the BIOS version of my mobo without turning it on? What risks do I have if, for testing the compability, just install the processor and give it a go (since it has a possibility that the mobo already came with the updated BIOS from factory)?

Another problem... now to memory related...
As i stated before, unfortunatly i only get to Gigabyte's web after the purchase was done, trying to prepare myself for the assembly, and ther i saw that the memory that i bought isnt in the QVL (Qualified Vendors List)... is this really an issue?

I certified that the mobo supported the DRAM frequency of 2400MHz, and i thought that was it, didnt had to check anything else.... =/

here's the mobo website: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4953#ov

Thanks for your attention!
Any help is welcome!

PS.: I also noticed that the SSD I got also isnt in the QVL from that mobo... but lets leave at that...
PS2.: I guess this might be my first and last "solo rigging"...
PS3.: Sorry for any confusion due to my bad english...

Solution
Believe the show the BIOS version on the box, unless you got one that's been on shelf forever should have the updated BIOS, and 2400 will be fine, might take a slight OC of the CPU to run at full 2400. Install the DRAM go into BIOS and enable XMP select profile 1 and should be good. If it won't boot, kickj the CPU multiplier up 2 spots
