Someone else would recommend a gtx 980ti, but the r9 295x2 even beats the titan x, here are some comparisons:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-x-gm200-maxwell,4091-3.html

But of course there are many cons to it, you might find some stutter and produces more heat and power consumption, and after all it is a bit old, so if your not sure get the gtx 980 ti :)

Thanks for the comments
The plan for the cooling was to do a custom loop, atm I've got a corsair closed loop in both my PC and the wife's but was looking at including the GPU into it.

i forgot to mention in the OP that i have a case (nanoxia deep silence 2) that i plan to use for the new computer and the same go's for the Optical drive.

I have windows 10 to put on so don't need a OS to account for in price (Some might argue that i'd be better going 7 but i'm also running 10 to get used to it as i'm in IT)

on the GPU i'm kind of attached to the 980 ti, partly just I've always had an nvida card but also for the heat and power and was planing to get a G-sync monitor and had read that it was a bit better then freeSync.

For storage i also have a 16TB NAS so don't need heaps in box, was the HDD change just to add more space for the price or do the Barracuda out preform the other drive?

What was your thinking behind the Motherboard/PSU?

don't want to sound ungrateful just trying you learn, Thanks again heaps

Yeah the gtx 980ti is a more reliable, easier, and safer choice.. but if you want pure performance than get the r9 295x2

The Asus Maximus is a very good well known series of motherboards and the Hero is one of the greatest, the psu is also high tier, I don't want you to pay a great amount of money and get a crappy psu and motherboard, , the hdd isn't any different from western digital except I'm used to using it because it's cheaper.. hope this helped.. :)

I would only switch out the PSU...

If you're doing a custom loop you're not gonna need that Corsair H60 as you'll be buying the block with everything else. IMO the Maximus boards are overpriced; the MSi you've picked probably does everything you need it to at less cost. It's all in what you want though. I assume the loop parts are not in your $3000 AUD budget. What about the case? I like the Enthoo Primo but it's quite large for only one GPU; maybe the Corsair 750D.

Whoops I missed that link for the case unless you edited it in; anyway the case seems to be appropriate. Obviously check that people have done custom loops in that case before. Other than preferring Corsair for RAM and WD for HDDs the system I posted above is what I'd build if I were starting from scratch right now.

no i edited it in, i'd mentioned it in the first reply but it wasn't easy to see.
I have found a few examples of people water cooling in the case, and it has grommets for external rad (not that that's my plan)
