im building a pc and decided to put a ssd in it for my os. What size do I need for just my os. Is 32gb enough. Also could I use a sata 2 drive? They are cheaper.

Solution
All windows updates are downloaded to your system drive before they are installed so a bare minimum size for just the OS won't cut it. As Greantea said 120GB is the smallest that you want to look for.

A good SATA 2 drive will still be faster than a HDD so that would be OK, but those older drives might not have the optimizations that would allow the drive to maintain it's performance over time.
