My power supply recently oversurged and cooked most of my parts including my motherboard and hard drive. I believe my video card survived, but I don't know about the cpu. I don't have another motherboard with the same socket type to test it. Is it possible that it still works?

Everything that was connected to your motherboard is likely dead, unless you got lucky. Was it lightning or your power supply failure?

Is there a chance it survived? Yeah
Would I try it? Probably not, for the simple fact if it is really screwed up it can short the motherboard you put it in and damage it. The video card is probably toast too, but that won't burn out the motherboard if its bad.
Toss it out.
