Coil whine or something else? This noise is driving me crazy!

Whenever I play games like League of Legends, Batman Arkham Origins, Battlefield 4 I get an very annoying static buzzing sound in my headphones. I have tried using V-sync and fps limiters but none of those solved the problem. I also have tried to use a PCIE soundcard but it has made no difference. If I turn off all the sounds in a game the noise is very clearly present. The sound is tho completely gone if I use my old crappy usb headphones. I have tried to use many different 3.5mm headphones but the sound is present with all of them. The sound changes pitch when the fps changes. Anyone have any suggestions of how to fix this? :(

Coil whine comes from the GPU/PSU (generally GPU), not the headphones. If you are hearing the noise through your headphones, then it's not coil whine.

And if plugging in other headphones worked (crappy old USB ones) it's almost certainly headphones-related and not GPU related (which, in fairness, can be a lot easier to fix as coil whine doesn't really have an exact fix at the moment).

I have tried using many different stereo headphones and it does not make a difference.
