This happened to me the other day and I was wondering if it affected my PC. I never turn the PSU off but I shut my computer down at night when I go to bed.

Solution
should not cause any problems. i can't say i have ever bothered turning off the psu itself and have been through many power outages with no issue. once the power is restored it's not like the psu all of a sudden goes into overdrive. even if the system boots up it's still a normal boot up as far as the psu is concerned.

the only thing that might cause any issues is a massive power spike when the power fails. this is rare but can happen. i have seen a transformer blow down the street and the power surge damaged a friend's pc. but this was one time a long time ago and the pc was running at the time and he did not have a surge protector on the pc at the time. newer (quality) psu's have all kinds of protection built in to prevent something...

Thanks everyone for the fast replies. My PC works just fine, and I even had it plugged in directly to the wall. I will definitely be using a surge protector in the future. I'm using an NZXT Hale90 v2 1200w power supply btw.
